May Goth Make Up Haul

image

For the month of May there were actually some nice deals on make up (with coupons…) so I had at it. I’ve always like Revlon cosmetics but this is the first time I actually bought a palette or a set of eyeshadow from them. I grabbed some face care stuff as well, because a clean face is a cute face.

Rimmel London’s Scandal Eyes Rockin’ Curves Mascara-

I practically live at Walgreens now, and the staff at mine is super friendly, I adore them. I think this is a brand new product, hot off the truck because I have been in Walgreens every day this week, checking out a different mascara. I was going to get the Retro Glam with the wavy wand, but tip of it seemed too thick for my tiny inner lashes. The feature of this one is “Broken Heart Brush” which is like the love child of curvy brushes and fine tipped brushes. I’ll be honest, you know I’m a sucker for names and packaging, but I actually like this product. It didn’t cumple my lashes together and my eyes don’t react weird to the mascara formula. (I think it’s Covergirl or Maybelline that makes my eyes water…hmm…) I will go back and buy some more. Found at Walgreens.

Rimmel London Scandal Eyes Waterproof Gel Eyeliner-

This is a repeat purchase but it is the only gel liner I use. In case you’re in the market for one, allow me to introduce you two. This gel liner is really waterproof and smudge proof. It’s also super easy to work with. I have to use exfoliating wipes to get my make up off and then wash my face. I think they changed the packaging designing to this from the brush in the cap one, which I actually loved. Oh! These are on sale at Walgreens for 2/$9.00. That sale starts on the 31st of May.

Coloured Raine Lipstick “Dragenista”

So I have no idea why this lipstick is called Dragenista. If you do know why can you let me know? Click the link here to see the color. I don’t know if we’ve talked about my relationship with Coloured Raine’s lipsticks. They are $14.00, come in all sorts of fun colors, like purple, and when they say matte they frickin’ mean matte. How matte you ask? I tried to use one of these with lip primer and found it completely unnecessary. Its application (without lip primer) is smooth and not crayon like at all. The lipstick is true to the color you see in the picture and in the tube, and they are very good at selling you what you think you’re buying. I think the only misleading thing about them is that their purples tend to be super bright and/or eye catching. Don’t underestimate the impact of these little puppies. With Dragenista I saw swatches from other customers where it looked super purple, and in the right light it does. Generally I find it to be a more bluish purple than hands down purple (such as Arabian Night, that is a purple I’ve dreamed of).

NYX Macaron Lippies-

I actually have another batch on the way, so I will do a more detailed review of this product when they arrive. I do like this product, but I don’t know if I’m crazy in love with it. The white lipstick (Coconut) has the same problems you’d expect with a white lipstick, but it is a good attempt for $6.00. The other colors are smooth and true to color and this is something I think NYX has been very good about. The focus of these lipsticks was to be easy to blend and they are. I can’t stop mixing them with blacks, and purples. If you follow me on Instagram or Tumblr then you saw. (I don’t even care if it looks hideous, I love green and purple.) I would definitely recommend this product to people who are interested in cheaper yet bolder lip colors. Available at Ulta, but it sold out on the NYX website…

Revlon Parfumerie “Wild Violets”-

This is my favorite shade of purple nail polish, super dark purple that almost hits black. I’ve been eyeing this nail polish since it first came out (I think fall of last year) but been debating it on it forever. Can I tell you something wonderful and amazing about this product and others in the line? When it dries it smells like wild violets. *sigh* It smells so good and wonderful and yes. They have an autumn one I might go back for, because this scented nail polish thing just became my life.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick-

Iced Amethyst- I got this one for my normal looking days when I still want a bit of color on my lips. I think it’s a lovely shade of shimmery more pink, but still purple lipstick.

Black Cherry- While I have a few dark red lipsticks, I forgot how much I liked Revlon’s Black Cherry. It’s comparable to Milani’s Black Cherry and it might be just a touch more red than that. I could’ve sworn I had some before but can’t find it for the life of me so it’s nice to have back in my collection.

Va Va Violet- For all my purple lipstick loving, I never got a chance to try this shade. It was always sold out at the store, and I would forget and then be reminded and cycle repeats forever. It’s like the lipstick version of NYX’s Soft Matte Creme Lip Butter Transylvania. It meets my desires for being a dark purple and not some weird plum business. *sigh*

General? Feels smooth and not too creamy on the lips. The Va Va Violet was only at Rite Aid though. The other two I got at Walgreens.

Que Bella Lavender Relaxing Mask-

You are seriously missing out if you’re not using this product. I make sure to buy it every time I walk in Target and use it every week for the past year. It clears my face up so I feel gorgeous and it completely relaxes me when I have a terrible headache. So creamy and excellent, just endless bliss and perfection. The price varies but it’s about $1- $2 at Target. If you have trouble finding it, it’s usually in that weird aisle with fragrances and other bath accessories near hair care.

Revlon ColorStay Eyeshadow Shadowlinks-

I love that Revlon makes these. This is another product I’ve been eyeing for awhile, and because of my coupon obsession I got them for free. They’re good for my casual looks since I used to only own the brightest and darkest shades ever to grace the face of the earth. The one that caught my attention the most was Bone, because I don’t have a matte ivory eyeshadow surprisingly. They blend easily with other eyeshadows and can alter in color when you mix them together. The most important thing? They make me feel beautiful. Available wherever Revlon is sold, price varies here too.

St. Ives Even & Bright Scrub-

This is a new product from St. Ives but I use their apricot scrub religiously. I haven’t had a chance to use it yet because I’m still finishing up my other scrub product. It smells wonderful though. Hello lovely scented mornings. Walgreens.

Burt Bee’s Lip Balm-

I will confess I don’t use chap stick as much as I should. I got Hydrating and Revitalizing and my lips are looking healthy and so smooth! They smell so delicious I wish I could eat them…is that bad? I will definitely go back for more of these. Walgreens and Target have them in all their flavors. There’s like six or seven.

That’s May’s beauty haul. As always I hope you found something useful here and if you like it please share and/or comment. That Black Cherry color has been one of my favorites for so long. If you have/can find a good black lipgloss with shimmer it is gorgeous on top of it. Even better if you can find a gunmetal shimmer gloss to put on top.
